All adjudicated water is now OUT of priority…this means if you are calling for water you will now be using your project water. Unless your property is designated as irrigable land, you should NOT be using any water from the ditch.
The Florida Water Conservancy District(FWCD) administers project water, delivered through the Florida river to the Pioneer Ditch users. Project water is water adjudicated to the FWCD that is stored in Lemon Reservoir and delivered to classified irrigable lands to which project water has been allocated.
The right to use Project water is transferred by deed, approved water reallocation petition, or approved water transfer petition. Assessments for project water are billed with your property taxes and should not be used on any land that is not classified as irrigable land.
How to determine this - you paying annual assessments for your project water directly to the Pioneer Ditch Company. On your annual assessment statement it will be reflected as Acre Feet of water rather than # of shares.
